*Last updated: October 21, 2026\. Prices are in USD as listed on Heyy's pricing page. The figures below do not include taxes.*

**Short answer:** Heyy has four plans: Hobby at $49 a month ($41 yearly), Pro at $149 ($125 yearly), Ultra at $499 ($416 yearly), and custom Enterprise pricing. The three self-serve plans include 1,000, 6,000, and 20,000 credits a month. One credit pays for one AI message or one automation trigger. Extra credits cost $20 per 1,000, so an AI reply works out to about $0.02 to $0.05, depending on your plan. WhatsApp message fees are billed on top. Those numbers matter more than the headline price. Heyy AI is a customer messaging platform. You use it to build AI Employees that answer customers on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and live chat. It also gives you a shared inbox, a mini-CRM, and campaigns. If you are comparing WhatsApp chatbot pricing or AI chatbot pricing, the real question is how much each conversation costs. This guide breaks down the plans, shows the WhatsApp fees, and covers the add-ons that shape your monthly bill.

## Can you try Heyy for free?

Partly. Heyy's pricing page says you can start without a credit card. The Hobby plan has a 7-day free trial button. Pro and Ultra show a plain Subscribe button instead, so the trial looks like a Hobby-level test.

Some third-party sites still mention a 14-day trial and an older free plan with 100 credits. The live pricing page does not show either one, so check the sign-up screen for the current terms.

The smart way to use the trial is simple. Connect one channel. Load your real FAQs into one AI Employee. Then watch how many credits a normal day of chats uses before you pick a plan.

Yearly billing is '2 months free'. That works out to about $96 saved on Hobby, $288 on Pro, and $996 on Ultra over a year, compared with monthly billing.

| | Hobby | Pro | Ultra |
| --------------------------------- | ---------- | --------- | --------- |
| Monthly price | $49 | $149 | $499 |
| Yearly price (per month) | $41 | $125 | $416 |
| Credits per month | 1,000 | 6,000 | 20,000 |
| Users | 1 | 5 | 10 |
| AI Employees | 1 | 2 | 3 |
| Knowledge storage per AI Employee | 3 MB | 20 MB | 50 MB |
| Actions per AI Employee | 3 | 8 | 12 |
| AI assets per AI Employee | not listed | 50 | 500 |
| Channels | 3 | 5 | 10 |
| Automations | 10 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Support | Basic | Standard | Priority |

All three plans include unlimited contacts, campaigns, the mini-CRM, the shared inbox, and full API access. Pro adds scheduled and recurring campaigns, Journeys, and saved views. Ultra adds Sensitive chats and the option to remove the 'Powered by' branding. Enterprise is priced on request and adds higher limits, SLAs, a customer success manager, and migration help.

Older reviews can be misleading. Some Capterra and EveryDev listings still show 2,000 and 8,000 credits on the lower tiers. The live pricing page shows 1,000 and 6,000\. Check the current page before you trust a third-party figure.

## How Heyy credits work

According to Heyy's credit sheet, credits are the single currency for AI activity:

- **One AI message costs 1 credit.**
- **One automation trigger costs 1 credit.**
- **Extra credits cost $20 per 1,000**, or $0.02 each.

A customer chat with five AI replies uses about five credits. Any automation that fires during the chat adds more. These credits cover WhatsApp AI automation, but they do not cover WhatsApp's own message fees. Those are billed separately.

## What an AI reply costs, by plan

Dividing each plan price by its included credits gives an effective cost per credit. This is my own math, not a Heyy rate card. It slightly overstates the pure AI cost because the plan also pays for seats, the inbox, and the CRM. Even so, it is the clearest way to compare plans.

| Plan and billing | Price | Included credits | Cost per credit |
| ---------------- | ----- | ---------------- | --------------- |
| Hobby, monthly | $49 | 1,000 | $0.049 |
| Hobby, yearly | $41 | 1,000 | $0.041 |
| Pro, monthly | $149 | 6,000 | $0.025 |
| Pro, yearly | $125 | 6,000 | $0.021 |
| Ultra, monthly | $499 | 20,000 | $0.025 |
| Ultra, yearly | $416 | 20,000 | $0.021 |
| Extra credits | $20 | 1,000 | $0.020 |

Two takeaways stand out. First, Hobby's included credits cost more than twice as much as a top-up. If you only need a little more volume, buying extra credits is cheaper than upgrading. Second, Pro and Ultra have the same cost per credit. Ultra is about seats, AI Employees, channels, and features, not cheaper AI replies.

## WhatsApp fees: the cost the pricing page does not show

![A glossy green square icon with a white telephone handset inside a speech bubble](https://images.unsplash.com/photo-1636751364472-12bfad09b451?crop=entropy&cs=tinysrgb&fit=max&fm=jpg&ixid=M3wxMTc3M3wwfDF8c2VhcmNofDJ8fHdoYXRzYXBwfGVufDB8fHx8MTc5MTgwNjUwMXww&ixlib=rb-4.1.0&q=80&w=2400)

If you follow WhatsApp business API pricing, note that Heyy publishes a country-by-country rate sheet. The pricing page says extra charges apply for credits and WhatsApp messages. Rates vary a lot. Marketing messages are the expensive category. Utility messages, like order updates and confirmations, are much cheaper.

| Country | Marketing, per message | Utility, per message |
| -------------- | ---------------------- | -------------------- |
| United States | $0.0313 | $0.0046 |
| United Kingdom | $0.0794 | $0.0297 |
| France | $0.1074 | $0.0405 |
| Germany | $0.1706 | $0.0743 |
| Netherlands | $0.1996 | $0.0675 |
| Spain | $0.0884 | $0.0270 |
| Italy | $0.0994 | $0.0405 |
| India | $0.0148 | $0.0019 |

In practice, 1,000 marketing template messages cost about $31 in the US, $79 in the UK, $107 in France, and $171 in Germany. A German broadcast costs more than five times a US one, and that bill sits on top of your Heyy plan. If your customers are in Western Europe and you plan to run campaigns, budget for this first.

Two things are worth checking before you publish a budget. The US marketing rate on Heyy's sheet ($0.03125) is higher than the roughly $0.025 that third-party guides quote for Meta's list price. That suggests a margin on top of Meta's rate. Heyy does not say this, so ask support. Heyy's sheet also lists a 'Service' rate. Meta's own model treats replies inside the 24-hour customer service window as free, so confirm in your account how Heyy bills those. That is the WhatsApp API cost per message, plus any margin Heyy adds.

## The add-ons that change your bill

| Add-on | Price per month |
| -------------------------------- | --------------- |
| Additional user | $30 |
| Additional AI Employee | $50 |
| Additional channel | $40 |
| Additional WhatsApp phone number | $8 |
| Custom integration | $50 |
| Additional automations (Hobby) | $10 |
| 1,000 extra credits | $20 |

A few quick examples show why these matter. Hobby plus four extra seats costs $169 a month. That is more than Pro at $149 for five users, so a team with more than a few people should skip Hobby. Matching Ultra on a Pro plan would mean five extra users ($150), one more AI Employee ($50), 14,000 extra credits ($280), and five more channels ($200). That comes to $829 a month versus $499\. You still could not buy Sensitive chats or unbranded chat as add-ons.

## Which plan fits your volume?

Here are three realistic workloads using the prices above. WhatsApp fees come on top of each.

**1\. A local business with one person on the inbox (Hobby).** Four hundred conversations a month at about five AI replies each is 2,000 credits. Hobby includes 1,000, so add one 1,000-credit top-up for $20 and you pay about $69 a month. Pro at $149 only makes sense once more teammates need access. Check that credit top-ups are available on your Hobby account before you rely on this.

**2\. An online store with automated flows (Pro).** Say 6,000 AI replies plus 2,000 automation triggers for abandoned-cart and order-update messages. That is 8,000 credits, so Pro plus two top-ups comes to $189 a month. Automation triggers use credits too, so plan for that.

**3\. An agency running six client brands (Ultra).** Ultra's $499 covers three AI Employees and lets you remove the Powered by branding. Provide each client with their AI Employee. Add three more for $50 each, totaling $649 per month before credits over 20,000\. Additional WhatsApp numbers cost $8 each.

If you also run paid traffic, an AI Employee can qualify and follow up the leads your ads generate. Our [Google Ad Generator guide for lead generation](https://theravenstack.com/google-ad-generator/) covers the traffic side of that setup.

## Hidden costs and limits to check

- **WhatsApp fees.** Billed separately by country and message type, and not included in any plan.
- **Credit burn.** Both AI messages and automation triggers consume credits, so busy automations can drain an allowance faster than you expect.
- **Per-employee limits.** Knowledge storage (3, 20, or 50 MB), Actions (3, 8, or 12), and AI assets apply to each AI Employee, so they multiply when you add more.
- **Plan-locked features.** Remove Powered by and Sensitive chats are Ultra only. Scheduled and recurring campaigns, and Journeys, start at Pro.
- **Rollover and billing terms.** The pricing page does not mention credit rollover, so assume unused credits reset monthly and confirm in the app. Check the yearly billing terms at checkout too.
- **Taxes.** Heyy does not specify if VAT or sales tax is included, so you should expect your checkout total to be based on your local rules.

## Is Heyy worth the price?

Heyy's pitch is simple: the AI, the inbox, the CRM, and the automations are one product, not four separate subscriptions. For a small business that uses WhatsApp and Instagram, that bundle at $49 to $149 a month is reasonable as long as you count WhatsApp fees. It also fits well if you want a WhatsApp AI chatbot for small business use cases.

It is a weaker fit if you want a chatbot for WhatsApp free, or if you only send occasional WhatsApp broadcasts, since several competitors offer one. See our Manychat alternatives comparison for options at different price points.

## FAQ

**How much does Heyy cost?**

Hobby is $49 a month ($41 yearly), Pro is $149 ($125 yearly), and Ultra is $499 ($416 yearly). Enterprise is custom. WhatsApp bills message fees and extra credits on top.

**Does Heyy have a free plan?**

The current pricing page lists no free plan. It says you can start without a credit card, and Hobby shows a 7-day free trial. Older reviews mention a free plan with 100 credits that no longer appears on the page.

**What is a credit on Heyy?**

One credit pays for one AI message or one automation trigger. Extra credits cost $20 per 1,000.

**How much does one AI reply cost?**

Roughly $0.02 to $0.05, depending on your plan and billing cycle. That estimate comes from dividing the plan price by its included credits.

**Do I pay WhatsApp fees on top of the plan?**

Heyy offers different rates for each message based on the country and category. For example, they charge $0.031 for marketing messages sent in the US and $0.171 for the same type of messages in Germany.

You can find more information about Heyy's rates by visiting their website.

**Can I remove the Heyy branding?**

The Ultra plan lists the Remove Powered by option.

**Can I add more users or AI Employees?**

Yes. Extra users cost $30 a month, and extra AI Employees cost $50 a month.

**Is an AI chatbot like Heyy allowed on WhatsApp?**

Meta has banned general-purpose AI assistants from its Business API since January 15, 2026, but it still allows customer support and sales bots. Heyy is built for the second category, so it works as a WhatsApp AI chatbot for support and sales.

## Bottom line

Heyy's real cost is the plan, plus credits, plus WhatsApp fees. Hobby suits a one-person inbox, Pro is the sensible default for a small team, and Ultra is for agencies and larger teams that need the seats, branding control, and Sensitive chats. Before you pay, run the trial and measure your own credit use. [Start your Heyy trial here.](https://link.heyy.io/theravenstack1?ref=theravenstack.com)

## Q&A

**Question:** When should you buy extra credits instead of upgrading your Heyy plan?

**Short answer:** Buy extra credits when you only need a little more AI or automation volume. Extra credits cost $20 per 1,000, or $0.02 each. That is cheaper than the effective included-credit cost on Hobby and about the same as Pro or Ultra on yearly billing. Upgrade when you need more users, AI Employees, channels, automations, or plan-locked features.

**Question:** Why can WhatsApp fees change the real monthly cost so much?

**Short answer:** WhatsApp fees are billed separately from Heyy credits and vary by country and message type. Marketing messages cost far more than utility messages, and Western Europe is especially expensive. For example, 1,000 marketing messages cost about $31 in the US but about $171 in Germany, before your Heyy plan or AI credits.

**Question:** How should a business estimate its credit usage before choosing a plan?

**Short answer:** Estimate monthly customer conversations, multiply by the average number of AI replies per conversation, then add any automation triggers. For example, 400 conversations with five AI replies each use about 2,000 credits before automations. The article suggests using the Hobby trial with real FAQs and real customer questions so you can measure actual credit burn before you commit.

**Question:** Who is Ultra best suited for?

**Short answer:** Ultra is best for agencies, larger teams, or businesses that need more users, more channels, more AI Employees, higher per-employee limits, Sensitive chats, or the option to remove the Powered by branding. It does not lower the cost per credit versus Pro, so the reason to choose Ultra is capacity, not cheaper AI replies.
